Workshop on "Space High Technologies For A Sustainable Economic Development Of Vietnam – Land application”

On April 03, 2017, The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and CLS Group of the French Space Agency jointly organized a workshop on "Space High Technologies For A Sustainable Economic Development Of Vietnam – Land application”. 

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Minister of MOST - Tran Quoc Khanh stated that the Strategy for Research and Application of Space Technology in Vietnam by 2020 was approved by the Prime Minister, in which remote sensing technology for the socio-economic development is one of the top priorities of the country.

At the workshop, national and international experts shared presentations with focus on the application of space technology, by Vietnamese agencies, CLS and other international organizations for sustainable economic development and environmental protection, especially in water resources management, agro-forestry and rural development management, and monitoring the impacts of climate change and sea level rise.

Representative from the Institute of Water Resources Planning, Mr. Ha Thanh Lan - Head of Department - Department of Training and International Cooperation, contributed the speech: "Inclusion of remote sensing in sustainable water resources planning and management". The speech has received the attention of many organizations and initiated ideas for future cooperation.
