Seminar on Cooperative training program "Application of remote sensing in water resources management"

Within the framework of cooperation between Winrock International, Forests and Delta Project (VFD) and Institute of Water Resources Planning (IWRP), the parties have jointly conducted training and other capacity building activities for the Institute staff as well as the relevant bodies in the field of remote sensing and water resources management. Training courses have been held monthly for officials of Institute of Water Resources Planning under the guidance of experts from the Netherlands and the United States and Winrock International, Institute for Water Education (UNESCO-IHE) in 2015 - 2016. 

On January 3-5, 2017, a closure seminar on Training on "Application of remote sensing in water resources management" was organized at the project office of Forest and Delta Project (VFD). Joining the seminar, there were officials and engineers from Institute of Water Resources Planning, Forests and Delta Project and relevant agencies. The staff involved had positive exchanges as well as presenting some of the results achieved with the experts of UNESCO-IHE, Winrock when applying Google Earth Engine tool into analyzing and solving issues related to water resources and ecosystems, such as water balance calculations, rainfall data collection and land use mapping, etc.

Closing the seminar, the staff expressed their expectation of other intensive training programs, as well as opportunities for future cooperation.
