WORKSHOP ON “GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT”

On 12 December 2019, the Institute of Water Resources Planning held a seminar on “Groundwater assessment and management” presented by Australian speaker - Coby Pymble-Ward. Mr. Thai Gia Khanh- Deputy Director General of Institute chaired the meeting with participations from different divisions within the Institute.

 

Opening the seminar, Head of Department, Training and International Cooperation – Mr. Ha Thanh Lan delivered the opening address and outlined the objectives of the seminar.

 

During the seminar, the Australian speaker - Mr.Coby Pymble-Ward, Water Resources Specialist from the Australia Volunteer Program, shared information about the why manage groundwater, Vietnam’s groundwater resources, groundwater resources assessment, model and tool and groundwater management strategies. After that, the experts share the experiences, strategies from Austrailia and some ideas in the world.

 

After seminar, Mr.Thai Gia Khanh, Deputy of Water Resources Planning considers this seminar to have been effective, attracting the attention of many experts for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in assessments and managing groundwater and the sharing of many ideas for future consideration.
