Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh - Director General, Directorate of Water Resources

2020 was the year of difficulties and challenges due to the Covid 19 pandemic on the one hand that affected the implementation of the planned tasks, and serious natural disasters such as severe drought in Northern Central, Southern Central, and Southwest regions, and devastating floods in the Central Region on the other hand. Nevertheless, the Institute has overcome the difficulties, actively sought remedial measures, and successfully completed the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Directorate of Water Resources, the Vietnam Disaster Management Authority, and others. Particularly, the Institute has effectively provided advice and consultancy to the Ministry and the General Department in forecasting water sources and preparing water use plans, on safe operation of reservoirs, flood prevention for downstream, etc.
