On August 20, 2020, at the Office of the Directorate of Water Resources (DWR-MARD), a contract signing ceremony took place to start the implementation of the project "Planning for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Hydraulic Works for period of 2021-2030 and vision to 2050". The association of the Institute of Water Resources and Planning and the Southern Institute of Water Resources Planning is the contractors in this project.
The project is a content implemented under the Planning Law No. 21/2017 / QH14 and expected to be completed in 18 months from the signing of the contract, ending in January 2022.
To be conducted by the leading planning institutes of the sector, this national-scale planning task is expected to fully examine the dynamics of weather, climate, adapt to changes of present and future requirements of socio-economic development, propose specific and feasible solutions for hydraulic works and disaster prevention, and solve major problems of national and inter-regional scale and outstanding problems in each economic region.
Mr. Do Van Thanh, Director General of the IWRP, as the representative of the association of the contractors signed the contract with the DWR. Speaking at the contract signing ceremony, Mr. Thanh pledged to direct the contractors to spend their available human, material, and time resources to ensure the progress and quality of the project products as required by the contract.
