The meeting was held following established contact and collaboration between the two organizations in research and capacity building in the area of remote sensing technology in water resources management. Earlier, ADPC/SERVIR Mekong and IWRP signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2016.
In the meeting, ADPC - SERVIR-Mekong introduced the RDCYIS tool and informed IWRP about the ongoing effort to improve the tool resolution from 25 km to 5 km, and from 3 months to 6 months forecast. IWRP presented the focus areas, such as rainfall forecast (short term and long term), water demand, disaster risk management (floods and droughts) and water balance modelling, especially in transboundary river basins.
