Inspect and evaluate the implementation of the scientific and technological tasks by the IWRP according to the protocol between Vietnam, Japan and Indonesia

On July 12, 2023, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) sent a team to the IWRP to inspect and evaluate the implementation of the scientific and technological tasks according to the protocol between Vietnam, Japan and Indonesia. The team composed of leaders and experts from the Office of National Science and Technology Programs (NPCT), the Department of International Cooperation, specialized units under the MOST as well as scientists in the expert group. Dr. Luong Ngoc Chung, Deputy Director General on behalf of the IWRP together with its heads and specialists of the Divisions for Training and International Cooperation, Science, Technology and Environment, and Finance and Accouting financial received and worked with the team.

Mr. Ha Thanh Lan, the IWRP’s Task Manager on behalf of the task group reported to the inspection team a number of contents including the progress of implementation of professional contents, products and international cooperation during the performance of the task from the date of signing the contract; disbursement of the counterpart funds in 2022 and the plan in 2023; difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process, and some proposals and recommendations to the NPCT and the Department of International Cooperation of MOST for speeding up the implementation.

Mr. Le Dinh Hanh, Deputy Director of the NPCT, Head of the inspection team highly appreciated the report by the IWRP and suggested the lead organization and the Chairman the task continuing realization and improvement of the products, professional reports and fulfilling procedures for confirmation of the volume of work completed and relevant funding according to provisions of the Protocol.

The scientific and technological tasks according to the protocol "Development of machine learning and remote control-based water management platform for sustainable agriculture in Asian deltas" coded Invest/eASIA/22/26, is led by the IWRP (MARD). This is jointly implemented by five partners from 3 countries, including the IWRP itself, Niigata University, Kobe University, Kindai University (Japan) and Bogor Agricultural University (Indonesia).
