Two groups of solutions, one for management and the other one for physical structures, were proposed as the results of the project, specifically:

    - Management solutions:

  • To adjust the urban development plan and land use plan, no development plan for urban, settlement, industry and livestock husbandry allowed in the flood-prone areas, based on the flood maps corresponding to the selected flood control standards,
  • To develop response plan based on rain forecast and flood forecast,
  • To accept the occurrence of floods and prepare materials and means to respond to floods,
  • To change production models in the flooded areas by converting about 400 ha of low-lying areas into aquaculture.

   - Structural solutions:

  • To build possible upstream reservoir to store flood,
  • To isolate floods from mountains,
  • To build close dike to protect the whole area or protect local areas,
  • To rehabilitate the riverbeds of Tich, Bui and Day rivers,
  • To construct pumping station to drain completely or pump partly flood water,
  • To identify areas with limited development.

After the presentation of the research managers, the members of the Council gave comments on the issues that need to be supplemented and completed, and shared their thorough assessment on the implementation of the topic.
