Grassroots-level acceptance of the State-level scientific research project: "Proposing solutions to prevent flooding and inundation for Bui river basin and surrounding areas" coded DTDL.CN-16/20.

On March 14, 2023, the IWRP held a meeting of the Grassroots-level Acceptance Council for the State-level Scientific Research Project:  "Proposing solutions to prevent flooding and inundation for Bui river basin and surrounding areas" coded DTDL.CN-16/20.


The Acceptance Council was chaired by Mr. Do Van Thanh, IWRP's Director General, Chairman and had the participation of experts and scientists from departments under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Hydraulic Works, Vietnam Academy for Water Resources, Thuyloi University and IWRP.

The council listened to the project manager report on the research results and discussed and evaluated the scientific products of the project. Overall assessment approved the results achieved and raised the issues that need further improvement with the following general comments:

- Implementation of the research on flooding and inundation for the Bui river basin and its surrounding areas is of extreme necessity, high practical significance for the area that is frequently flooded with impacts on the local socio-economy, 

- The research has closely followed and fully implemented scientific products as ordered, including scientific reports and articles published in specialized journals on hydraulic works and water resources.

- The results show a large amount of research and calculation work that researched, analyzed, selected and proposed solutions to prevent flooding and inundation for the Bui river basin and surrounding areas. The results were highly appreciated by the Hanoi Municipality People's Committee and the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and recommended to continue further research and application in practice.

- The Acceptance Council approved the research results with 07/07 votes and required the research to continue revising and finalizing the product according to the comments and suggestions made by the council members.
